Pretty Presets for Lightroom believes in the power of higher education to enrich personal and professional lives. To support students pursuing their academic goals, we offer an annual $500 scholarship. This ongoing award gives college- and university-bound students a chance to receive financial support for their studies.
Award timeline and announcement
- Annual deadline: April 15 (entries accepted each year up to this date).
- The winning submission will be posted on the Pretty Presets Blog.
- The winner will be notified by email approximately three weeks after the April 15 deadline.
- Submissions are evaluated by a judging panel at LightroomPresets.com.
- Prize: $500 USD delivered as a co-payable check mailed to the college or university attended by the winning student.
What to submit (essay tutorial requirements)
- Prepare an essay-style Adobe Lightroom tutorial of at least 800 words that includes ORIGINAL screenshots and photos demonstrating your techniques.
- Choose one of the following tutorial topics:
1. Any how-to tutorial for Lightroom or Lightroom Mobile.
2. Any distinctive, photography-related tutorial.
3. An essay on how Lightroom has influenced photography.
- Use correct grammar and punctuation.
- Tip: We prefer topics not already covered on our blog — reviewing our site first can help you stand out.
Who is eligible
- Eligible entrants must be one of the following:
- A current high school senior;
- A student transitioning from high school to a college or university; or
- Currently enrolled in a college or university in the United States or Canada.
- Employees of Pretty Lightroom Presets and Actions and their immediate family members are not eligible.
How to submit
- Email your essay in Microsoft Word (.doc/.docx) or plain text (.txt) format to scholarship@lightroompresets.com.
- Include your full name, phone number, email address, and mailing address (this information will be kept confidential).
- Provide the name of the college or university you attend, or will attend, and the mailing address for that school’s financial aid office (the scholarship check will be mailed to the school).
- Attach a headshot of yourself in .JPG or .PNG format that is at least 300 pixels wide.

- If any required information or attachments are missing at the time of submission, your entry may be disqualified.
