KidGuard is deeply committed to fostering the healthy growth of children and families. We have established the KidGuard for Education Scholarship as part of our initiative to raise awareness and stimulate solutions for issues such as cyberbullying, online predators, teen suicide, and childhood depression in this digital era.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA: This scholarship is open to all high school students from grades 9 to 12.
APPLICATION PROCESS:
Applicants are required to select ONE of the following prompts and submit a comprehensive essay or video:
A) Discuss the influence your family, parents, school, and teachers have had on your personal development. Please provide personal experiences to substantiate your response.
B) In your opinion, how much autonomy should parents grant their children? Please provide personal experiences to substantiate your response.
C) Identify some potential hazards that young people may encounter on the internet. Please provide personal experiences, news articles, or research to substantiate your response.
D) What steps should be taken if you or a friend become victims of online bullying? Please provide solutions for both scenarios and use personal experiences to substantiate your response.
E) Explore ways in which young people can utilize the internet or social media to make a positive impact on their communities. Please provide personal experiences to substantiate your response.
