Overview / Purpose
The Mid-Michigan AIChE scholarship supports the American Institute of Chemical Engineers’ mission by providing financial assistance to graduating high school seniors planning to pursue careers in chemical engineering. The award recognizes strong academic achievement and active participation in school and community activities. Selection is not based solely on financial need; it targets students who have demonstrated proficiency in core academic subjects and show a strong likelihood of successfully completing a chemical engineering degree.
Award Amount and Duration
The scholarship totals $2,000 and is distributed over four years.
Eligibility
- Must be a graduating high school senior from the Mid-Michigan tri-city area or an adjacent county.
- Intends to enroll in an ABET-accredited chemical engineering program.
- If the student will not be entering a traditional four-year institution with an ABET-accredited chemical engineering degree, the application must explain how the alternative pathway will lead to a chemical engineering degree from an accredited program.
- Demonstrated high achievement in core academic courses and meaningful school and community involvement are expected.
