Columbiana-Mahoning-Trumbull Cattlemen Scholarships
Scholarship Sponsored by Columbiana-Mahoning-Trumbull Cattlemen
Introduction
The CMT Cattlemen are offering a scholarship for students pursuing studies in agriculture. Well-qualified graduates are essential to support and strengthen our agricultural community. If you plan to begin classes in the fall of 2026 at an accredited college, university, or trade school and intend to major in agriculture or an agriculture-related discipline, you are encouraged to apply. Applicants must reside in Columbiana, Mahoning, or Trumbull County. Children and grandchildren of current or former CMT Cattlemen directors will be eligible regardless of their declared major; all other applicants must be planning to enroll in an agricultural or ag-related program.
Award Timing and Disbursement
Scholarships are granted each spring to help cover educational expenses for the upcoming academic year. The recipient will receive the award once proof of enrollment for the upcoming term has been provided.
Terms
- Awards are intended for full-time students pursuing an undergraduate degree at a 2- or 4-year institution, or at an accredited trade school recognized by the Cattlemen.
- Scholarships apply to the academic year immediately following the spring award.
Eligibility
- Applicants must be graduating high school seniors and residents of Columbiana, Mahoning, or Trumbull County.
- Children and grandchildren of past or present CMT Cattlemen directors are eligible irrespective of their intended field of study.
- All other applicants must plan to enroll in agriculture or an agriculture-related field.
- Students already receiving a scholarship may reapply in subsequent years if they continue undergraduate study and maintain a minimum 2.5 GPA after their first year.
Application Procedure
Complete the enclosed application and return it to the Scholarship Committee by May 15 of the current year. Include a current academic transcript and the signature of an authorized school official. Notification of the award will be delivered in writing, in person by a CMT Board member, or announced at the school’s awards assembly.
Selection Process
The CMT Cattlemen Board of Directors will select recipients in June. Decisions will be based on academic performance, demonstrated financial need, extracurricular involvement, and other pertinent factors.
We encourage you to take advantage of this chance to advance your education in agriculture.
