Selection and awards
- Scholarship amounts are set annually by the Fund Trustees. For 2022 there will be at least five (5) scholarships of $3,500 each.
- Applications will be evaluated by the Board of Trustees of the AGC of Michigan Educational Endowment Fund. Selection factors include the applicant’s demonstrated interest in construction, academic record, extracurricular involvement, work history, employer evaluation, and financial need. The trustees may choose to interview applicants.
- The program actively promotes diversity in the construction industry. Each year, awards will include recipients who are female (or who identify as female) or who have at least one birth parent who is Black/African American, Latinx, Native North American, or Asian/Pacific Islander. Applicants who receive a diversity-designated scholarship must meet one of those criteria.
- Award decisions will be made public by April 30, 2022, and winners will receive notification by mail in May 2022.
- Scholarship checks will be issued directly to the recipient’s university in June or July prior to the 2022–2023 academic year.
