Isabella Community Credit Union Members Scholarship
Scholarship Sponsored by Mt. Pleasant Area Community Foundation
Introduction
In April 2009, Isabella Community Credit Union (ICCU) launched the Isabella Community Credit Union Members’ Scholarship. The scholarship is intended to help an upcoming Isabella County high school senior pursue further education at an accredited college, university, or trade school.
Purpose and structure
ICCU created this scholarship as a permanent, self-sustaining resource that continues to support local students regardless of wider economic circumstances. By endowing the fund at the Mt. Pleasant Area Community Foundation, ICCU can make regular contributions that grow the principal over time. The long-term aim is to build the endowment to a size that will reliably fund scholarships each year.
ICCU leadership
ICCU President/CEO Jay Anders envisions the fund expanding opportunities for as many young people as possible to achieve their educational ambitions. The credit union also hopes that scholarship recipients will, in the future, give back by becoming active contributors to their communities.
