Introduction
Isabella Bank and its staff contribute time, funds, and volunteer effort beyond their everyday roles to serve customers and strengthen local communities. The bank recognizes that education is a lifelong endeavor and that supporting young people’s learning and civic engagement helps create opportunities for personal and professional growth. Isabella Bank views community service as an essential part of that educational journey.
Scholarship Overview
Each year Isabella Bank awards nine scholarships, each worth $1,000. The awards are distributed as follows: 1 for Bay County, 1 for Clare County, 1 for Gratiot County, 2 for Isabella County, 1 for Mecosta County, 1 for Midland County, 1 for Montcalm County, and 1 for Saginaw County.
Eligibility Requirements
To be considered, applicants must meet all of the following:
- Be a graduating high school senior attending school in one of the counties listed above.
- Demonstrate financial need.
- Provide evidence of community involvement through service or volunteer activities.
- Intend to pursue postsecondary education and have been accepted to an accredited two- or four-year college/university or an approved postsecondary program (including industrial, technical, or vocational schools).
- Not be an immediate family member (parent, sibling, spouse, or child) of an Isabella Bank employee or a member of the bank’s board.
- Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
Selection Preferences
When selecting recipients, preference is given to applicants who show:
- A higher degree of sustained involvement in community service or volunteer work.
- Demonstrated leadership in their community service activities.
