International Essential Tremor Foundation Scholarship
Scholarship Sponsored by International Essential Tremor Foundation
Each year the IETF awards up to 10, $7,500 scholarships to qualified post-high school students of all ages, to lessen the burden of higher education. The scholarships can be used for supplies, books or tuition at licensed, accredited institutions of higher education (including trade schools) and are paid directly to the educational institution.
Eligibility requirements:
- High school or GED graduate of any age attending a licensed, accredited institution of higher learning
- Applicant has been diagnosed with ET
Scholarship criteria:
- Academic success (at least a 3.0 Unweighted Cumulative GPA)
- Community service and/or Leadership skills
- Essay submission, limited to 500 words, answering the question: How has ET affected my life? If you were previously awarded an IETF scholarship, you must submit a new essay.
Application materials to be submitted even if applied in the past:
- Completed application form (obtained on the IETF website)
- Letter of acceptance from the educational program director
- Most recent high school or higher education transcript
- Essay (see Scholarship criteria above)
- Doctor’s letter of ET diagnosis
All application materials MUST be submitted together for consideration. Applications missing materials will be ineligible.
IETF board members and donors contributing greater than $10,000 and family members (siblings, parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles) are excluded from applying for and receiving scholarships. Receiving a scholarship or a denial does not preclude an individual from re-applying for a scholarship in the future. An individual may apply each year provided they follow the printed guidelines.
