Digital Privacy Scholarship
Scholarship Sponsored by Digital Responsibility
Introductory note
Almost everything you share online can persist and may not remain private. Oversharing on social networks can lead to serious consequences for your future. According to a CareerBuilder survey, 43% of employers who reviewed applicants’ social media profiles chose not to hire the person. Likewise, a Kaplan Test Prep survey found that 12% of college admissions officers who examined Facebook profiles decided against admitting an applicant. This scholarship is designed to raise awareness about why exercising caution with online posts matters. For additional reading on digital privacy, please refer to the linked articles.
